It was a cold night on the drive home from Tennessee to Pennsylvania and because of the road conditions, we decided to spend the night in Charlston, West Virginia. While looking for a hotel we noticed the State Capital Building. It was all lit up and reflecting on the water and I decided to try my hand at some architectural photography. Armed with my tripod, a Pentax 35mm film camera, and a winter coat I stomped through the crunching snow to find a good spot at about 1 AM. I really liked the picture once I had it developed and since then I decided that it might be a cool little challenge to photograph all of the US Capitals. I completed the first half fairly quickly, and now you can see from the map above how far I have come. To date I have shot 36 of the 50 states.
