Club Cherry in downtown Tempe, Arizona hosted this 2007 Tribal Adventure promotion for Dos Equis, the imported beer from Mexico. I had done two previous Dos Equis promotions called Mexicool and the 2006 Tribal Adventure. The promotion company for each of these was La Event Entertainment Productions (LEEP) headed up by Anacia Kagan (renown dancer and choreographer for the burlesque dance troupe Bijou in Los Angeles).

This event carried the same Tribal Adventure theme, but the festivities were quite different. In past years I painted tribal tattoo stencils on drummers who provided the live entertainment. This time there were no drummers, but instead a staged skit with a very talented theatrical troupe. I was prepared to paint the stencils on the promotional models who were hired to hand out the Dos Equis swag, but upon arrival I was told that there were no stencils this year. Instead I was asked to do some face painting on the models. The outfits that most of the models were wearing were safari outfits that wouldn't have given much of an opportunity for tribal tattoos anyway.

I was able to bring one model into the project named Maryjoy. I had met her at a previous bodypainting project and asked her if she would be available for this project. She was then hired by LEEP to wear a sexy tiger striped outfit and hand out tarot cards. Since her midriff was open, I opted to paint her belly instead of her face. I was going from memory on how to draw a tiger's face and the strobing club lights didn't help, but hopefully you can at least get the picture. The scratch marks on her side were temporary tattoos that I picked up at the local theatrical supply shop.

Here are a couple of pictures from the event:
