Two Lighting Awards At IES Phoenix Illumination Awards
by Mark Greenawalt

IES Illumination Award Phoenix Section for ASU Wexford Building and Saguaro Center at Sun City Festival

At my day job at Creative Designs in Lighting, I get the opportunity to work on the lighting designs for some really special buildings. This year, my collegue Jen Kelley and I were honored to receive Awards of Merit on two projects that we collaborated on at the IES Phoenix Illumination Awards Ceremony. The picture that I am pointing to in this picture shows the lobby of Wexford Phoenix Biomedical Campus Innovation Center at the downtown campus of Arizona State University. Also, don't tell anybody, but we've received word that this project will also be getting an Award of Merit from the IES International level Illumination Awards, but it won't be officailly announced until next month. Btw, this photo behind me is printed on translucent film and backlighted within a big 2' X 8' metal frame...it's pretty cool to see.

The second award was for a state-of-the-art recreation center for the Pulte Sun City Festival active adult living community. This project featured a two-story fitness room, an expansive ballroom, aerobic training room, and a central Great Room for enjoying the views of the White Tank Mountains. To see my architectural photography that was submitted for these the two projects, go to my company's website at http://www.cdltg.com/portfolio/corporate-design/ and http://www.cdltg.com/portfolio/planned-communities/ . I'm proud to list these two awards as my 20th and 21st career lighting awards.

Interviewed By Kathy Blaze For Desertwood Daze TV Show

Desertwood Daze with Kathy Blaze Interview on Dream Network Channel on Local BTV App

The list of creators, actors, and artists that have been interviewed on Kathy Blaze's Desertwood Daze TV Show reads like a Who's Who of the talent pool of Arizona. It was an honor to be asked onto the show and such a thrill to watch it on TV on the Dream Network Channel. I was able to find the channel on Apple TV by going to the Local BTV app and scrolling to Community Channel 75.11. There are a lot of channels on there! Kathy asked great questions and we got to cover quite a few of my artistic endeavors, but the focus was on my body painting body of work. The episode will eventually make it to their YouTube channel where you can see all of the other interviews at https://www.youtube.com/c/DREAMNetworkChannel/featured.

It was also a fortuitous pleasure to meet producer George O'Barts who talked to me about the need for music video content on the channel between episodes of the show. I have signed up with him to put 10 of my music videos into rotation on the channel! So cool.
