The Second Annual U.S. Bodypainting Competition Hits New Mexico
by Mark Greenawalt

US bodypainting competition new mexico The theme of the second annual U.S. Bodypainting Competition was Halloween: Creatures and Critters of the Night. I had a blast this year playing with special effects make-up techniques and hanging out with some of the most talented bodypainters in the United States. My partner in crime for nearly the whole event was the talented Erin Glover who was my model for several projects and since she is an accomplished bodypainter too, I even became a model for two painting projects. The Queen of the Damned, Live At CopperCon 27
by Mark Greenawalt

Akasha the Queen of the Damned at CopperCon 27 I'm a fan of vampire novels. I enjoyed Bram Stoker's Dracula and Stephen King's Salem's Lot, but I was totally immersed in Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles. When I was asked to do a live demo at CopperCon 27 and told that the theme would be Children of the Night, I immediately thought of Rice's character Akasha, The Queen of the Damned. With a little help from some friends and a little planning, I produced an image that I think is pretty scintilating.
